The moments that don't get captured...

One of the differences about being on a short-term mission trip and then transitioning to living in a country, is that you don't always get those moments captured in photo that you want to remember or share with others.  On short-term teams there's usually someone with a camera around, eagerly snapping photos 🙂 but when its just you and your husband, and you are the ones involved in the moment, you just lack pictures.

Last week, was a very special moment for us.  Foursquare Haiti held their leadership meeting at our home.  I can't put into words, just what a huge honor it was.  As a missionary mama, I loved the fact that I could still be involved, yet step away to get kids ready for bed.  My family was also here visiting and that helped tremendously.  Pa, my brother and nephew entertained the kids, and then Pa read them books and put them to bed.

As the meeting went late into the night, many things were discussed.  To sit there and see the passion and desire to serve that these men of God have was humbling.  They have been through alot... ALOT this past year and have remained faithful and true.

In the end, our role was discussed with Foursquare Haiti and some specific projects outlined for us to start working on.  The Haitian pastors were charged with being our spiritual covering here in Haiti.  The moment that will forever be in my mind and heart was when they gathered around us, anointed us, and prayed for us.  These are the moments that I love.  Our heart is to partner with and help serve these pastors so that they can fulfill the call of God upon their lives.  We are learning more each day what true servant-leadership looks like and how we can be apart of spreading the gospel here in Haiti.
