Haiti Happenings

This past year, our Foursquare Haiti National Leader, Pastor Bellande, was one of thousands forced to evacuate their homes and relocate their families from Port-au-Prince to a more secure location within Haiti. In November, Matt is part of a team going to Haiti to meet with a handful of our pastors. The goals of these meetings are pure encouragement and spiritual refreshing to the Haitian pastors. We hope to do future sessions with all the pastors, especially during this very challenging time in Haiti, to give them a reprieve for a few days. We are excited to see what ministry opportunities are presented in Haiti!

Expanding a Church Building in the D.R.

We are currently partnering with a church from Indiana to construct a classroom on the 2nd level of one of our Haitian churches here in Santo Domingo, DR. The space will provide an area for growth and outreach within their children's ministry programs.  We will host the visiting short-term team in February 2024 and kick off construction!

Border Closures

On September 16th, 2023, the Dominican Republic Government closed all borders with Haiti due to a dispute regarding a shared river between the two countries. The “Massacre River” flows mainly in the DR, and then for 7km, it crosses into Haiti, thus making it a shared river. The Haitians have been working on a canal that diverts the river water from the DR. Therefore, all air, land, and sea borders between the two countries have been shut down until this issue can be resolved. This has a ripple effect in SO MANY AREAS. Pray for this to be resolved soon and for healing and forgiveness to flow both ways as The Living Water is revealed.
