Haiti will not forget July 7th, 2021

July 7th, 2021

On the 7th of July, 2021, the President of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse, was assassinated in his home.
Words cannot adequately describe the pain that was felt across the nation. Our hearts have mourned this devastating lost.

GOD IS GUIDING US… On the night of July 6th, Anna and the kids departed from Denver, Colorado where they had been visiting family and a nephew. Aleah and Blake were overjoyed to be going home to Haiti to see their daddy.  However, upon arrival at 7am at  the Miami airport on July 7th, Haiti had already closed its airports and was shut down for 2 days.  After much prayer and discussion, it was decided that the best plan of action was to wait in Miami and stay with friends. We wanted to see how the current events effected the stability of the nation.  During this time, Matt was able to come Miami so that we could be reunited for a little bit. He has since returned to Haiti, with the anticipation of Anna and the kids rejoining him in early August.

TRANSITIONAL HOME

This past year, God has been leading and directing our hearts to open a transitional home for young girls.  Please be in prayer with us as we begin to take steps in that direction.  Our plan is to work with IBESR (Social Workers) of Haiti and have a haven for girls to come to that need emergency placement.  We don’t have all the details worked out… but God does and we’re following His lead.

SOLAR POWER

We are now powered by the sun! Yes, after months of generator problems we have installed solar panels. These panels will work with inverters and batteries to power Ruuska Village!  If you would like to give towards this project, you can donate online through www.bryanmissions.com. Just drop us an email letting us know that you are giving towards the solar project.
